Congresswoman Lucy McBath was first called to advocacy after her son Jordan Davis was murdered in what became known as the “Loud Music Shooting” in 2012. After the loss of her son, Congresswoman McBath became a national advocate for gun safety and later decided to run for Congress. She now serves as Vice Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.

Since coming to Congress, McBath has been instrumental in passing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Law. For the first time in over two decades, she also helped procure funding to study gun violence as a public health epidemic.
