Sandy Springs, GA — This week, Representative Lucy McBath (D-Marietta) hosted two webinars focused on resources for small businesses, and was joined by experts in banking and small business development. Over the course of the week, McBath addressed over 200 constituents who represent businesses in and around the Sixth District.
“Small businesses are the heart of a thriving community and vital to the American economy, and there isn’t one in Georgia or across our country that hasn’t been impacted by this pandemic,” McBath said. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to convene these conversations with small business experts in our community and share the most recent information available on how the federal government is supporting this critical piece of our economy.”
Joining Representative McBath during her webinars were Drew Tonsmeire, Area Director of the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center at Kennesaw State; Donna Ennis, Project Director of the Enterprise Innovation Institute at Georgia Institute of Technology; Jennifer Pasley, Managing Partner of Sky Capital Ventures, LLC; Tony Christopher, President and CEO of Georgia Certified Development Corporation; and Joe Brannen, President and CEO of the Georgia Bankers Association. Constituents who joined the webinars had the opportunity to ask questions directly to Rep. McBath and the small business experts.
Last night, McBath voted to approve additional, bipartisan funding to the Small Business Administration for the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loans. The bill gives another $310 billion to the Paycheck Protection Program and $10 billion for SBA Disaster Grants.
