Marietta, GA — On Monday, Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-06) attended the American Jewish Committee of Atlanta’s Virtual Unity Seder. She addressed the group of more than 100 people from around the Metro-Atlanta area gathered for the ceremony and highlighted the importance of community celebration, unity, and faith during this crisis.

“I was so grateful to attend the first virtual Seder for the American Jewish Committee of Atlanta and glad to come together in community to celebrate the holiday,” said McBath. “I will never forget how meaningful the consistent display of unity from our neighbors continues to be for me, and I am honored to have the privilege to continue to build upon that bond as a member of Congress. Even in national crisis, it is important that we continue to stand up for our community and follow where our faith leads us. The Passover story is a reminder that our unity is our strength, and that there is nothing we cannot overcome, together.”

Rep. McBath is a member of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations.

Last night’s event was a chance to celebrate Passover and the beginning of spring. Participants also heard from faith and community leaders from across Atlanta, who shared their messages of hope and unity. For more information about AJC Atlanta and their work, visit https://www.ajc.org/atlanta.
