Sandy Springs, GA — This evening, Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-06) hosted a Senior Resource Telephone Town Hall highlighting presentations from the Social Security Administration and AARP to help seniors spot scam calls, avoid fraud campaigns, and learn about the benefits they’ve earned. The event was attended by more than 3,000 community members.
“Helping our neighbors get the help and benefits they deserve continues to be the foundation for my work in Congress—it’s why we have a team of caseworkers right here in Georgia dedicated to providing assistance. Now, with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and the recent ruling by the FDA to make hearing aids available over the counter, more support is coming to the American people to provide the life-saving care so many rely on,” said McBath. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak directly with our community and hear from our local experts this evening, and I thank everyone who took the time to tune in.”
Any resident of Georgia’s Sixth District who is in need of help navigating their federal benefits is encouraged to call McBath’s District Office at (470) 773-6330. If any senior thinks they may have been targeted, they are encouraged to contact the AARP Fraud Watch Network Helpline at 877-908-3360.
