Marietta, GA — Today, Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-06) is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of the Treasury and IRS have launched the “Get My Payment” web application, a free service to allow taxpayers to submit direct deposit information and track their Economic Impact Payments included as part of the third emergency federal response package, the CARES Act. McBath joined her colleagues in supporting the legislative package late last month.

“We advocated for these relief payments in our Coronavirus response package to help provide some support to Americans during this uncertain and unprecedented time,” said McBath.“American taxpayers and their families deserve rapid payments and a transparent and easy-to-use process. I’m glad to see this digital tool launch and I pray that Georgians and citizens across our nation are staying healthy and safe during this time.”

“Get My Payment” is an online app that will display on any desktop, phone or tablet. It does not need to be downloaded from an app store. Due to high volume, users may face longer than expected load times. For taxpayers to track the status of their payment, they will need to enter basic information in the “Get My Payment” app:

  • Social Security Number
  • Date of birth
  • Mailing address

Taxpayers who want to add their bank account information to speed receipt of their payment will also need to provide additional information:

  • Their Adjusted Gross Income from their most recent tax return submitted, either 2019 or 2018
  • The refund or amount owed from their latest filed tax return
  • Bank account type, account and routing numbers

Taxpayers are encouraged to gather this information before they enter the portal to save time. Click here to visit the “Get My Payment” app. The news release from the U.S. Department of the Treasury can be found here
