Duluth, GA — On Monday, November 20th, Representative Lucy McBath (GA-07) honored three veterans of the Vietnam War and two family members of deceased Vietnam veterans from Georgia’s Seventh Congressional District in a 50thCommemoration Ceremony. Participating veterans were honored with a commemorative lapel pin and a certificate of special recognition. Gwinnett County District 3 Commissioner Jasper Watkins participated as a guest speaker.
“With today’s ceremony, our efforts to thank and honor every single veteran of the Vietnam War era continues in earnest,” McBath said. “I want to thank my friend and partner in service, Commissioner Watkins, for joining me to share his own reflections on this chapter of our nation’s history and for ensuring that these veterans and their families are properly recognized for their service to this country.”
Veterans recognized during the ceremony served during the Vietnam War era in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force. This was McBath’s seventh Pinning Ceremony since taking office in 2019.
Established in 2008, the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration honors veterans of the Vietnam War for their heroic service and pays tribute to their selfless contributions.
