Sandy Springs, GA — Rep. Lucy McBath (D-Marietta) joined McKesson employees and leadership last Thursday for a fireside chat with the OWN IT (Outstanding Women Networking, Inspiring and Taking Charge) employee resource group. During the conversation, McBath commended the work McKesson does to improve health across our communities and encouraged the group to enter leadership roles, empower one another to take on career challenges, and continue to be engaged in their communities. Several hundred employees joined the conversation, many of them residents of Georgia’s Sixth District.

“I was so glad to join the fireside chat last week, and it was my pleasure to engage with all those who attended,” said McBath. “It’s so vitally important that we have women in leadership roles. The vision we bring to leadership is innovative, resourceful, and it’s powerful. I know it doesn’t feel like an easy task to take on new challenges, so I really encourage everyone in attendance, and those who were not in attendance, to embrace the power of their own voices.”

McKesson works with biopharma companies, care providers, pharmacies, manufacturers, governments, and others to deliver insights, products and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. The OWN IT employee resource group at McKesson is one of nine available to employees of the company aimed at fostering an inclusive community, and it was the first of the nine to be created.
