Duluth, GA — On Valentine’s Day 2024, Representative Lucy McBath (GA-07) announced that her fifth annual “Valentines for Veterans” community event was successful in collecting thousands of valentines and delivering them to the Atlanta VA Medical Center for distribution to Georgia veterans. Since announcing this year’s event in January, McBath’s office worked with local schools and constituents in the community to collect and organize the cards in advance of today’s holiday.

“Veterans deserve to know just how loved and appreciated they truly are,” said Rep. McBath. “I look forward to this community event each year, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share these messages of love and support for the men and women who have done so much for our community and our country. I am deeply appreciative to every young person and their teachers who joined me in this initiative, and I want to thank the Atlanta VA Health Care System for their engagement on such a meaningful event.”

This year’s participating schools were Alton C. Crews Middle School, Beaver-Ridge Elementary School, Berkley Lake Elementary School, Berkmar Middle School, Brookwood Elementary School, Chesney Elementary School, Dacula Elementary School, Gwin Oaks Elementary School, Johns Creek High School, and Snellville Middle School.
