Duluth, GA — This weekend, Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-07) announced the winners of the 2024 Seventh District Congressional Art Competition. In a ceremony on Saturday at the Lawrenceville Arts Center, McBath welcomed participating students and their families to celebrate their artwork and announce the top 3 winning pieces.

“It is extremely important to me that we encourage and support a love of the arts among young people,” McBath said. “This year’s art competition was the result of teachers and parents who recognized the remarkable talents of these students and provided opportunities for them to create some truly extraordinary artwork. I am so proud of every single student who participated, and I send my congratulations to our top three winners!”

In total, McBath’s office received 52 submissions from students across 13 local high schools. The winners of the Seventh District 2024 Congressional Art Competition are:   

Third Place: Beruhe Fentahun, Children’s Beauty (Brookwood High School)
   
 
Second Place: Madison Algier, Dissociation (Centennial High School)
   
First Place: Whitney Yeboah, Kingsley (Brookwood High School)
   

The first-place winner of the competition will have their work displayed in the Cannon Tunnel at the U.S. Capitol. The second-place winner will have their work displayed in Rep. McBath’s Washington, D.C. office. The third-place winner will have their work displayed in Rep. McBath’s Duluth district office.
