Rep. Lucy McBath, D-Marietta, announced 6th District students who were nominated by her office to attend a U.S. military service academy.

In total, 26 students from the 6th District received nominations to the following academies: 11 students received a nomination to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, 15 students received a nomination to attend the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, 11 students received a nomination to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs and three students received a nomination to attend the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.

All students who received a nomination from McBath’s office must now be selected by the service academy for a formal appointment to attend in the fall of 2026. The following list contains the Cobb County Sixth District students who received a congressional nomination to attend a U.S. military service academy in the 2026-2027 academic year:

  • Hillgrove High School student Bryson S. Freeman of Powder Springs received a nomination to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
  • Marist School student Abigail R. Jacob of Smyrna received a nomination to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
  • Campbell High School student James M. Marvel of Atlanta received a nomination to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
  • St. Pius X Catholic High School student Mackenzie S. Stultz of Smyrna received a nomination to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
