February 2, 2023

Washington, DC — This morning, Congresswoman Lucy McBath (D-GA), Co-Chaired the 71st Annual National Prayer Breakfast with Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI). McBath spoke of her faith in a brighter future, of the reconciling work that must be done in Congress to push America forward, and of the responsibility we have to accept and forgive, to walk in humility, to govern as a unified body, and to love one another.

“I am so proud we were able to hold this breakfast in faith, in love, and in service to a brighter world,” said McBath. “The words of President Biden and of Bishop McKenzie rang true today, that our love must guide us, that we must spread our faith, and that we must find our purpose through pain or passion to make our future better, brighter, and stronger.”

The 71st Annual Prayer Breakfast featured prayers from Reps. McBath and Walberg, scripture from Reps. Tracey Mann (R-KS) and Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM), and Keynotes from President Biden, Bishop McKenzie, and Pastor Cymbala. The Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers also featured during the program.
