Sandy Springs, GA–Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA) is proud to announce Sixth District students who accepted an appointment to a United States military service academy. Many of these students were nominated to their respective service academies by McBath’s office. In total, 28 students from the Sixth District will attend one of the following academies: 13 students will attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, 6 students will attend the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, 7 students will attend the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, and 2 students will attend the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point.
“These talented and driven young people are the future of the United States of America,” McBath said. “As a member of a military family myself, I know firsthand that this kind of service is a sacrifice, not only by the servicemen and servicewomen themselves, but also by their families. I want each family of these service academy appointees to know that I am exceedingly proud of how their children will represent our community as they prepare to serve our nation.”
