Atlanta, GA—Today, Rep. Lucy McBath joined U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra, as well as federal, state and local Georgia officials, to highlight black maternal health, her legislation to expand Medicaid in Georgia, and President Biden’s agenda aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of all Americans.
“Hard-working Georgians deserve the right to quality, affordable health care,” McBath said. “I am grateful to Secretary Becerra for visiting our great state and for his willingness to shine a light on some of the health disparities that still impact far too many Americans. With help from the Biden Administration, I look forward to continuing my work in Congress to improve health outcomes for pregnant mothers, increase access to health care, and decrease the costs of care for all Georgia residents.”
During Secretary Becerra’s visit, Rep. McBath participated in two roundtable discussions with fellow members of the Georgia congressional delegation, local leaders, and health care providers.
