Atlanta, GA — Today, Congresswoman Lucy McBath (D-GA) launched her 2026 Congressional Art Competition. This competition is open to high school students in Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District. The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 20th, 2026.

“I invite all high schoolers in our district to participate in my 8th Annual Congressional Art Competition,” McBath said. “It has never been more important to foster a love of the arts among young people, and I look forward to seeing the amazing talent that lives right here in our community. Best wishes to each competing student—I can’t wait to celebrate your work!”

Each spring, a nationwide high school arts competition is hosted by the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent of students across the nation. Winning artwork from Georgia's Sixth Congressional District (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) will be eligible for display in the U.S. Capitol or in Rep. McBath's Washington and Atlanta offices.

One submission will be accepted per student, and all artwork must be delivered to the competing students’ art teacher on or prior to the April 20th deadline. A completed release form must accompany each student’s artwork, and all students must also complete a digital entry form on or prior to the April 20th deadline. The required release form, the digital entry form, and more guidelines for the competition can be found at mcbath.house.gov/art-competition.
