Marietta, GA — This morning, Rep. Lucy McBath (D-Marietta) held a webinar with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to update those from across Georgia’s Sixth District and answer attendee questions. Sherard Kendal McKie, Acting Regional Administrator for CMS Atlanta (Region 4) gave a presentation about the changes CMS has made during the ongoing pandemic, including the issuance of blanket waivers and best practices for beneficiaries to avoid fraud. A recording of the event is available online here.

“All federal agencies have had to adjust their operations to continue serving the American people during this time, and my office continues to engage with our CMS partners here in Georgia to assist constituents with their casework.” McBath said. “I want to thank Sherard for lending his expertise to this event today and for all the work he is doing to continue serving our constituents during these uncertain times.”

The online forum was the latest webinar hosted by McBath. Previous webinars and remote Town Halls with local experts have focused on small business loans, strategies for working, educating, and looking after loved ones from home, mental health, caring for veterans with dementia, updates from the Social Security Administration, and developing information on the COVID-19 virus.
