Atlanta, GA — Today, Congresswoman Lucy McBath (D-GA) announced that her sixth annual “Valentines for Veterans” event collected over 2,800 cards for Georgia veterans receiving care through the Atlanta VA Health Care System. McBath’s office coordinated pickup from 12 local schools and delivered the cards to the Atlanta VA Medical Center at the start of this week. Earlier this month, McBath visited Douglas County High School to speak with JROTC cadets and other students who participated in this event to thank them for their support of Georgia veterans.

“This annual program is symbolic of our commitment to honor the promises we make to servicemembers and their families and fulfill our obligations to them when they transition out of military life,” McBath said. “My Valentines for Veterans program is truly a highlight of each year, and I continue to be so grateful for the enthusiastic participation this program receives from local students and their families. I want to thank every person who took the time to make a card and help ensure Georgia veterans know that their service has not been forgotten. It is an honor to be a voice for veterans in Congress.”
